โ€œCongratulations on the successful launch of the Lusaka Agenda. I support its aim to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the global health financing ecosystem and to achieve universal health coverage (UHC). I am convinced that avoiding fragmentation and duplication across global health partnerships including Global Health Initiatives is indispensable to fill the gap in health financing.

The Japanese Government has been actively and consistently involved in the FGHI process in our endeavor to find a path leading to healthier financing and to more resilient, equitable and sustainable UHC.

I am confident that the Lusaka Agenda, based on the solid research in which I myself also participated, provides meaningful suggestions for GHIs to accelerate their efforts for better alignment, and ultimately, for ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all at all ages. I sincerely hope that the valuable outcome of the FGHI process will inform the post-2023 efforts to ensure that no oneโ€™s health is left behind.โ€
